Bibliometric analysis of Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea based on CiteSpace
Objective To analyze the status and hot spots of research on Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea(CDAD)internationally over the past two decades.Methods The related literatures collected in the Web of Science data-base from January 1,2003,to December 31,2023 were retrieved and the number of publications,authors,journals,related disciplines,countries,institutions and keywords were visually analyzed based on Citespace 6.2.R6.Results A total of 13,495 papers were retrieved.The global volume of publications had showed an overall upward trend in the last 20 years,with the United States(6,480 articles)publishing the most publications in this field.The US Department of Veterans Af-fairs was the most prolific institution,publishing 645 articles,and Wilcox was the most productive author with 137 publica-tions.The most cited journal was the Clinical Infection Disease(9,257 times).The keywords with high frequency were"Clostridium difficile","infection"and"Clostridium difficile infection".The keyword clustering could be roughly divided into four directions:risk factors,Clostridium difficile,Vancomycin and diarrhea.The research focus was mainly on the pre-valence,risk factors and treatment measures of CDAD.Conclusion Over the past two decades,the research on CDAD has been paid more and more attention by scholars,and the future research may focus more on safe,effective and econom-ical treatment measures for CDAD.
