Correlation between intestinal flora and inflammatory bowel disease with iron deficiency anemia:research progress
Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)is a chronic inflammatory disease of gastrointestinal tract, including ulcerat-ive colitis and Crohn's disease. Its pathophysiological mechanism is related to intestinal flora, immune function,environ-mental factors and genetic inheritance.Patients with IBD are prone to iron deficiency anemia(IDA).IDA affects patients'cognition, emotion, working ability and other aspects, and increases the hospitalization rate and economic burden of pa-tients.Intestinal flora constitutes the biological barrier of human intestinal tract.Intestinal flora maintains a certain dynam-ic balance in quantity and species.IDA causes changes in intestinal flora that may contribute to the progression of IBD.Meanwhile, the effect of iron supplementation is not good in IBD complicated with IDA due to the presence of intestinal inflammation and changes in intestinal flora. This paper summarizes the current progress in research on the correlation between intestinal flora and IBD and IDA.
