Objective To evaluate the specialty ability of Shanghai municipal hospitals,show the development level of each specialty,and provide evidence for the construction and development of hospital specialties.Methods Based on the unified collec-tion path of"inpatient cases,DRG category,specialty",specialized cases were collected.The evaluation index system of clinical spe-cialty ability developed by Shanghai Hospital Development Center was used.The coefficient of variation(CV)was used to compare the concentration of competence in a specialty.The median represented the average level of the specialty,and the deviation represen-ted the difference between the best and worst competence within the same specialty.Results The CV values of 19 specialties ranged from 0.09 to 0.19,the median was 539.93 to 671.92,and the deviation was 40.56%to 75.37%.In terms of the overall spe-cialized ability of hospitals,general hospitals performed better than traditional Chinese medicine hospitals,and specialized hospitals had prominent characteristics.Taking cardiovascular medicine as an example,the inter-hospital comparison of the same specialty showed that two hospitals had a positive deviation of more than 25%and six hospitals had a deviation of more than-10%.The abil-ity of each hospital varied greatly.Conclusion Through the evaluation and analysis of specialty ability,it can reflect the charac-teristics of specialty development,realize the comprehensive comparison between specialties,hospitals and different hospitals in the same specialty,and promote the specialty capacity building of Shanghai municipal hospitals.
