Objective To reduce the incidence of hypoxemia during bronchoalveolar lavage in elderly patients with pneumonia.Methods A quality control circle group was established to analyze the status quo of hypoxemia during bronchoalveolar lavage in elderly patients with pneumonia in respiratory care unit,analyze the causes,formulate countermeasures,and use quality manage-ment tools for improvement from oxygen therapy methods,irrigation methods,optimize operation processes,and adopt diversified communication mode.Results The incidence of hypoxemia decreased from 65.63%to 23.88%in elderly patients with pneumonia during bronchoalveolar lavage.Conclusion The incidence of hypoxemia during bronchoalveolar lavage in senile pneumonia pa-tients was reduced by carrying out quality control circle activities,which ensured the safety of patient examination,improved the quality of medical treatment and patient satisfaction.
