Based on the organizational inertia generation model,this paper expounded the causes of organizational inertia in patient safety management in medical institutions from four dimensions,namely institutional inertia,structural inertia,cultural inertia and role inertia,from two levels of environment and path.Furthermore,it proposed paths to o-vercome organizational inertia,such as to establish an incentive mechanism for patient safety management innovation,to optimize the organizational structure of patient safety management,to build an information platform for patient safety management,and to create a patient safety management culture in which doctors and patients participate.
