Objective To analyze the current situation and existing problems of medical equipment management in hospitals in China,formulate targeted strategies,and provide reference for improving the management ability of medical equipment in hospitals. Methods A purposive sampling method was used to select two tertiary hospitals from each of the four provinces of Hubei,Jiangxi,Jiangsu and Guangdong,and then 44 personnel engaged in hospital medical equip-ment management and clinical engineering technology were selected from the sample hospitals through the judgment sampling method for semi-structured interview. The grounded theory method was used to analyze the interview data.Results From the interview results,20 initial categories,11 main categories and 4 core categories were extracted. Hos-pitals medical equipment management is facing difficulties in four aspects of importance,management mechanism,use e-valuation and discipline construction. Conclusion Hospitals need to pay more attention to the management of medical equipment,constantly improve the management mechanism of medical equipment,continuously strengthen the evalua-tion of medical equipment use and personnel training,and promote discipline construction to improve the management a-bility of medical equipment.
