A scheelite mine in Yunnan province adopts a flotation process involving rougher flotation at room temperature followed by cleaner flotation at elevated temperatures.Currently, the grade of the tailings from heated flotation reaches 0.27%,making it economically viable to conduct tests on the flotation recovery of tungsten from these tailings.Due to the low concentration(10.2%)of the heated tailings, the strong inhibition of scheelite by high-temperature sodium silicate, and prolonged stirring during the heated flotation process, the recovery rate of re-flotation is low,and it is difficult to improve the concentrate grade.Through experimental exploration, the pulp concentration of the heated tailings is pre-concentrated to 40%.By adding 500 g/t sodium silicate and 400 g/t oxidized paraffin soap,a coarse concentrate grade of 1.741%and a recovery rate of 73.09%are achieved.A high-efficiency combination inhibitor(15,000 g/t sodium silicate+15,000 g/t BTF)is then used, and the selected rough concentrate underwent an open-circuit flotation test at room temperature, with one rougher stage and three cleaner stages, achieving a WO3 grade of 11.65%and a recovery rate of 43.86%.In the final closed-circuit process, following one rougher stage and two scavenger stages, the coarse concentrate is subjected to one rougher and three cleaner stages, resulting in a tungsten concentrate with a grade of 10.52%and a recovery rate of 51.79%.
