Serum tumor necrosis factor-α level in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and its correlative analysis with obesity
Objective To measure the levels of serum tumor necrosis factor-α in type 2 diabetes mellitus and its correlative analysis with Obesity. Methods 60 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus as diabetes group,42 normal subjects as control group. The patients' heights and body weights were precisely measured and the BMI was calculated. Detecting the fasting levels of serum glucose, insulin, insulin resistance indexes were calculated. TNF-α was measured by immunone nephelometry. Results The serum levels of TNF-α in patients group were significant higherly compared with control group (P<0. 05). The serum levels of TNF-α of obese subjects in diabetes group and control group were significantly higherly than that of non-obese subjects (P<0. 05). The correlative analysis showed that the serum levels of TNF-α were correlated with BMI、FINS、FPG、IR respectively in obese subjects with diabetes or not and non-obese subjects with diabetes. Conclusion TNF-a is correlated with type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity with normal glucose.
