Effect of health education by clinical pathway in patients with elective transradial PCI
Objective To explore the effectiveness of health education by clinical pathway for the patients undergoing elective transradial percutaneous coronary intervention. Methods 200 patients with acute myocardial infarction were divided into experimental group and control group randomly. The experimental group enforced health education by clinical pathway. The control group took routine health education. Participants completed self made questionnaires in-cluding the following aspects, such as demographic data, the knowledge of the illness, the satisfaction with the medi-cal care, symptoms and signs of the operative limb. Results The differences between the two groups were notable(P <0. 05) about the scores of the knowledge of the illness, the satisfaction with the medical care, the limb pain and swelling. There were significant differences in the incidence of errhysis and hematoma(P>0. 05) between the two groups. Conclusion Health education by clinical pathway can improve the patients' knowledge of the illness, alleviate some symptoms, increase their satisfaction to the medical care.
