Expression and significance of XIAP and Apaf 1 in the carcinogenesis of nasal inverted papilloma
Objective To explore the expression of X-linked inhibitor apoptosis protein (XIAP) and apoptosis protease activating factor-1 (Apaf-1) in nasal inverted papilloma (NIP), and explore their function in the development and malignant change process of NIP. Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expressions of XIAP and Apaf 1 in 15 samples of the NIP with carcinomatous tissue. Results (1 )The positive rate of XIAP protein expression was respectively 86. 6%S56% and 90% in NIP, NIP with carcinomatous and NSCC, which was significantly deviated (P<0. 05). (2)The positive rate of Apaf 1 protein expression was respectively 60% ,6. 6% and 20% in NIP, NIP with carcinomatous and NSCC, which was significantly deviated (P<0. 05). Conclusions The detection of XIAP and Apaf 1 may be an important indicator for judging NIPs malignant change or not.
