The Relation of HIF-1α, VEGF Expression and Angiogenesis in Osteosarcoma
Objective To investigate the role of HIF-lα and VEGF in angiogenesis of osteosarcoma by analyze their expression. Methods The expression of HIF-la and VEGF specimens of 35 osteosarcoma and 14 osteochondroma tissues was evaluated by immunohistochemistry. MVD was calculated by using CD34 as the specific marker of mi-crovessel endothelium. Results The positive rat(34. 3% , 82. 9%) of HIF-la and VEGF in osteosarcoma were significantly higher than those in osteochondroma tissues (P<0. 01). The expressions of HIF-la and VEGF in osteosarcoma were positively correlated) P<0. 05). The expression of HIF-lα and VEGF were correlated with Staging (P<0. 05). The MVD was higher in the positive group of H1F-1α and VEGF than their negative group(P<0. 01). Conclusions The positive expression of HIF-la and VEGF are related with osteosarcoma microvascular generate. It seems that HIF-la and VEGF contribute to development of osteosarcoma.
