Misdiagnosed analysis of oncocytic carcinoma of parotid gland and reivew of literature
Objective To explore the clinical features and to improve understanding of the parotid gland oncocytic carcinoma. Methods Analysis of three cases of parotid gland oncocytic carcinoma in the first hospital of lanzhou university, and review of the literature in the past three years, then try to summarize the pathological features. Results Parotid gland oncocytic carcinoma is a rare malignant tumor. The majority of patients with lymph node metastasis, and a minority of patients with facial nerve invasion. Postoperative pathological examination of the eosinophilic cells can confirm the diagnosis. Conclusion Parotid gland oncocytic carcinoma have short duration and fast growth, and it is easy to be confused with parotid malignant tumors, neck dissection and postoperative radiotherapy can improved the survival rate.
