The relationship between age stage or geader and clinical characteristics of mycoplasma pneumoniae in children
Objective To analyzed the relationship between Age stage or geader and clinical characteristics of myco-plasma pneumoniae in children. Methods The chiei clinical manifestations of 1 110 hospitalized children with MPP confirmed by ELISA positive mycoplasma pneumniae (MP) igM and PCR techniques from respiratory ward in our hospital; a retrospective study was performed to the childrens clinical features. Results Of total 1 110 patients, 598 were boys and 512 were girls (M ' F=1.16:1). The means age was (7. 33 ±3.33) year, 190 cases were infants, 550 cases were pre-school age,210 cases were school age, 150 cases were adolescence. The clinical characteristics of MPP in infants had more wet coughs,wheezings and rales,the onset of illness was more acute,but the digree in temperature was lowet and the length of fever time was shorter, whereas, the majority of school-age children with MPP-shoued higher fever, severe nonproductive coughs, slight pulmonary sighns and longer fever time. More segmental parenchymtous infiltrstion of chest X-ray cound be found in preschool or school -age than that in infants. Gegestive system were common extrapulmonary in school -age,There was no differences in extrapulmonary of cardiac system, kid,skin in three groups, there were more pleural abnormalities in school -age and adolescence than infants and preschool age. Conclusions There was certain relationship between the Age stage and clinical characteristics of mycoplasma pneumoniae in children, but no in geader.
