A case report of posterior mediastinum lymph nodes tuberculosis with dysphagia as the main symptom and literature review
Objective To reduce misdiagnosis and mistreatment of posterior mediastinum lymph nodes tuberculosis with esophagcal involvement. Methods 1 case of posterior mediastinum lymph nodes tuberculosis with the dysphagia as the main symptom was reported, related literature was reviewed and experience of diagnosis and treatment was summarized to explore the clinical characteristics and treatment methods. Results Posterior mediastinum lymph nodes tuberculosis invading esophagus was clinically rare. Comprehensive laboratory examinations including CT scan, esophagcal barium imaging, endosonography (EUS), and tuberculosis-related tests were performed for the patient, diagnosis was still not clear yet. Experimental anti-tuberculosis treatment according to CT imaging features and PPO test were performed for 2 months and the diagnosis of posterior mediastinum lymph nodes tuberculosis was established in the end. Conclusions Posterior mediastinum lymph nodes tuberculosis with dysphagia as the main symptom is very rare and could be easily misdiagnosed and mistreated. Enhance the knowledge of the disease and give comprehensively analysis of various tests is key to make correct diagnosis and treatment.
