Relationship between osteoporosis and cystatin C in postmenopausal women with type 2 diabetes
Objective To investigate the relationship between osteoporosis and cystatin C in postmenopausal women with type 2 diabetes. Methods Cystatin C(cys C) was measured by immune scatter turbidimetry and glomerular filtration rate(GFR) was calculated by Cockcroft-Gault formula. 85 postmenopausal women with type 2 diabetes in hospital from April 2010 to July 2011 were divided into osteoporosis group and non-osteoporosis group, and compared blood urea nitrogen(BUN),creatinine(Cr), Alb/creatinine(ACR) ,GFR and so on between two groups. We made pearson correlation analysis between HMD and above mentioned indicators. 85 patients were divided into three groups according to GFR from high to low degree, and compared BMD and osteoporosis morbidity among three groups. Results Cr and ACR were higher in OP group than non-OP group(P<0.05 或 P<0.01) ,GFR were lower in OP group than non-OP group(P<0.05 或 P<0. 01). HMD and GFR were positive correlation. The difference was statistically significant in BMD Of two thighbones! F=3. 454, P<0. 05) and osteoporosis morbidity( group A 34 %, group B 69 % , group C 77 % x2 = 9. 435, P <0. 05) among three groups. Conclusion Cys C measuration of postmenopausal women with type 2 diabetes may detect the decrease of kidney function as soon as possible, prevent and treat osteoporosis as soon as possible.
