Expression and clinical significance of E-cadherin、CD44V6 and HIF-1α in colorectal cancer
Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of E-cadherin, CD44V6 and HIF-la in colorectal cancer. Methods The expression of E-cadherinXD44V6 and HIF-la were detected by immunohistochemi-cal staining(streptavidine-peroxidase method) in 90 cases of colorectal carcinoma and 90 cases of adjacent normal colorectal mucosa. Results (1) The expression rate of E-cadherin in colorectal carcinoma was significantly lower than that in adjacent normal colorectal mucosa(58. 89% Vs 90. 00% ,P<0. 05). The expression rate of CD44V6 in colorectal carcinoma was significantly higher than that in adjacent normal colorectal mucosa(57. 78% Vs 5. 56% ,P <.0. 05). The expression rate of HIF-la in colorectal carcinoma was significantly higher than that in adjacent normal colorectal mucosa(61. 11% Vs 6. 67% ,P<0.05). (2)The expression of E-cadherin,CD44V6 and HIF-la was associated with lymph node metastasis and Dukes stages(P<0.05). E-cadherin expression was associated with cell differentiation (P<0.05). (3) The expressions of CD44V6 and E-cadherin were negative related in the colorectal cancer (P<0.05). Conclusion E-cadherin,CD44V6 and HIF-la are associated with the tumorigenesis and development of the colorectal cancer, and play an important role in invasion and metastasis of the colorectal cancer. Detection of the expression of E-eadherin,CD44V6 and HIF-la in the colorectal cancer may serve as important prognostic predictors.
