Laparoscopic Radical Hysterectomy and Pelvic Lymphadenectomy for Uterine Malignancy
Objective To investigate the treatment feasibility and short term effect of radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy under Laparoscopy for uterine malignancies. Methods Observe the difference of the operation duration, intraoperative blood loss, excised number of lymph nodes, hospitalization duration, time of passing gas, retention time of urinary tube, and postoperative morbidity of two group patients of uterine malignant tumor, 36 and 40 cases respectively, from March 2009 to January 2011, undergoing radical hysterectomy and lymphadenectomy with and without Laparoscopy(group 1 and group 2). Results Group 1 has lessintraoperative blood loss, excised number of lymph nodes, average hospitalization stay, and postoperative morbidity than group 2. Results have significant difference. Group 1 has longer operation duration. However, there was no significant difference between the two groups. Conclusions Two kinds of surgery have similar efficacy and safety. Compared with open surgery, the radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy under Laparoscopy has advantages of less trauma, quicker recovery, shorter hospital stay, lower postoperative morbidity when treating uterine malignancies. It is an ideal method.
