In order to ensure the safety of shuttle tankers during sea trips and crew operations, relevant mari-time regulations and conventions usually require the ship to be equipped with a gas detection system,to achieve local and remote monitoring of combustible gas, toxic gas,or concentration of oxygen volatilizing into the air. This paper introduces the design requirements and key installation points of the gas detection system of shuttle tankers according to the principle of the gas detection system, the form of the sensor, and the regulation requirements through actual ship application,to provide technical support for the design, selection, and installation of the gas detection system for shuttle tanker and ensure the safety operation of shuttle tankers during sea trips.
