Considering finding the reasons for the fracture of the exhaust valve, this paper established a 3D model with Solidworks software and analyzed the stress of the exhaust valve stem by adopting the finite element method. The stress analysis shows that the maximum deformation of the exhaust valve stem occurs at the joint of the valve head and the valve stem. When a collision occurs, the maximum stress occurs near the valve head.According to long-term operation, this may cause material decarbonization and strength reduction, resulting in the bending of the exhaust valve stem. This paper further proposed the structure optimization and material selection scheme to make the exhaust valve stem meet the reliability requirements in work, providing a theoretical basis for the structural de-sign of the exhaust valve.
