Observation on the influence of bovine serum albumin on the bactericidal effect of ozone water
Objective To observe the effect of different concentrations of bovine serum albumin(BSA)on the bactericidal effect of ozone water. Methods The suspension quantitative bactericidal test method was used to detect the bactericidal effect of ozone water on Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli under different concentrations of BSA.Results Without the interference of BSA,the average killing log value of ozone water with ozone concentration of(10.5±0.5)mg/L against Staphylococcus aureus for 30 min was 4.85;under the conditions of 0.3%and 3%BSA,the maximum average killing log value of ozone water with ozone concentration of 5.00-11.00 mg/L against Staphylococcus aureus for 30 min was 0.87.Without the interference of BSA,the average killing log value of ozone water with ozone concentration of(5.50±0.5)mg/L against Escherichia coli for 0.5 min was 5.83;under the conditions of 0.3%and 3%BSA,the maximum average killing log value of ozone water with ozone concentration of 5.00-11.00 mg/L against Escherichia coli for 1.5 min was 1.20.Conclusion The ozone water produced by the ozone disinfection machine can meet the qualified requirements for killing Escherichia coli at a concentration of 5.00 mg/L without BSA interference;under the conditions of without or with BSA,the bactericidal effect of 5.00—11.00 mg/L ozone water on Staphylococcus aureus can't meet the qualified requirements.
