Objective To understand the current status of central sterile supply department(CSSD)management in hospitals at all levels in Guizhou Province,and to provide basic data support for strengthening the management of CSSD.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate and evaluate the current status of CSSD management in some hospitals in Guizhou Province.Results A total of 110 hospital CSSD were surveyed,of which 23 CSSDs were located in basements or semi-basements,and 41 CSSDs were directly connected to operating rooms via sewage elevators.Less than 5%of the nurses had a specialized CSSD nursing certificate;the facilities and equipment could basically meet the needs of instrument processing in surveyed CSSDs,90.9%of which were equipped with automatic cleaning and disinfection machines,and 87.3%equipped with hydrogen peroxide low-temperature plasma sterilizers.CSSDs using non-woven fabrics and paper-plastic bags as packaging materials accounted for 97.3%and 94.5%,respectively.Centralized and unified processing for endoscopic instruments was implemented in 82.1%of CSSDs.Conclusion The proportion of specialized nurses is low in hospital CSSDs of Guizhou Province,and there is still a phenomenon of nonstandard building layout.The management of certain special instruments needs to be strengthened.
