Investigation and analysis of nosocomial infection in a hospital in Guangzhou from 2015 to 2020
Objective To understand the current situation of nosocomial infection in a hospital and to provide a basis for the key prevention and control of nosocomial infection.Methods Through retrospective investigation and analysis,the distribution and risk factors of nosocomial infection among hospitalized patients were investigated and analyzed.Results The average incidence rate of hospital infections in this hospital for 6 consecutive years was 2.7%,and the incidence rate of hospital infection cases was 3.1%.The top 5 departments in terms of infection incidence in this hospital were mainly intensive care unit,neurosurgery,neurology intensive care unit,general pediatrics,and cardiology intensive care unit.The top 3 infection sites were the lower respiratory tract,upper respiratory tract,and urinary tract,with infection rates of 27.8%,18.1%,and 14.7%,respectively.A total of 2 290 strains of pathogenic bacteria were isolated,with 60.8%and 19.9%of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria,respectively,and 11.3%of fungi.The main risk factors included elderly patients,long hospital stay,various indwelling catheters,arteriovenous catheterization,malnutrition,and use of immunosuppressants.Conclusion The incidence of hospital infections in this hospital is within a controllable range,with a focus on high-risk departments and infection sites,and targeted prevention and control measures should be taken.
