Effect of sampling method on the detection results of cleaning and disinfection in endoscope
Objective To compare the effect of peristaltic pump-assisted sampling and conventional irrigation sampling in the quality monitoring of endoscope disinfection.Method The monitoring results of soft endoscopy after treatment in the hospital from 2019 to 2021 were selected. The sampling solution was collected by ordinary washing sampling method in 2019-2020,and the sampling method assisted by peristaltic pump was used in 2021.The qualified rate and the detection rate of pathogenic bacteria were compared between the two methods. At the same time, the economic cost and time cost of detecting a single flexible endoscope by two methods were calculated. Results The qualified rate of soft endoscope disinfection by peristaltic pump-assisted sampling was 78.99%and 95.98%,respectively,which was lower than that by ordinary irrigation sampling(χ2=25.12,P<0.001).The detection rate of pathogenic bacteria was significantly increased, and the peristaltic pump-assisted sampling method and ordinary irrigation sampling method were 52.10%vs 17.86%(χ2=34.89,P=0.002),respectively.The time cost of collecting an endoscope was increased from 138.73 s to 316.73 s(t=6.60,P<0.05).The economic cost was 101.22 yuan more than that of ordinary washing sampling method. Conclusion The peristaltic pump assisted sampling method is highly sensitive to detect the cleaning and disinfection effect of endoscopy.
