Observation on influencing factors affecting the disinfection effect of slightly acidic electrolyzed water
Objective To observe the influence of available chlorine, temperature and organic interference substances on disinfection effect of slightly acidic electrolyzed water. Methods Suspension quantitative and carrier quantitative germicidal tests were used to observe the influencing factors of germicidal efficacy of a slightly acidic electrolyzed water, and influencing factors were analyzed. Results The available chlorine content of the slightly acidic electrolyzed water ranged from 52.4 mg/L to 160.4 mg/L.With the 52.4 mg/L available chlorine and the contact time of 0.5 min,E.coli in the suspension was killed. With the 160.4 mg/L available chlorine content and the contact time of 5.0 min,Bacillus subtilis var.black spores were killed. In temperature environments of 0℃and 10℃,E.coli on the carrier was killed with 160.4 mg/L available chlorine content and the contact time of 0.5 min. With the contact time of 30 min,the average killing log values of Bacillus subtilis var.black spores on the carrier were 2.46 and 3.55,respectively.Organic interference would reduce the disinfection effect of slightly acidic electrolyzed water. Conclusion The concentration of available chlorine, reaction temperature and organic interference substances are important factors affecting the disinfection effect of slightly acidic electrolyzed water.
