Survey on disinfection status of grassroots dental clinics in a certain area of Nanjing City
Objective To investigate the current situation of disinfection management in grassroots oral diagnosis and treatment institutions in a certain district of Nanjing,and to provide a basis and reference for further improving the prevention and control measures of iatrogenic infections.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted from May to June 2023 to investigate the layout,disinfection process,disinfection facility configuration,comprehensive treatment table waterway disinfection,and sterilization quality control of 111 grassroots dental clinics in the area.Results The implementation rate of setting up independent sterile storage areas in private dental clinics,private outpatient departments,and community health service centers was high(≥90.0%),and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The implementation rate of setting up independent recycling and cleaning areas in private dental clinics and clinics was relatively high(>95.0%),but the implementation rate of complete hand hygiene facilities and conducting disinfection and sterilization related training was relatively low(<50.0%).The configured rate of disinfection equipment in private dental clinics and private outpatient departments was higher than that in community health service center dental departments(P<0.05),with the equipping rate of small sterilizers being 98.5%and 94.3%,respectively.Conclusion The disinfection facilities and equipment in private dental clinics and outpatient departments are relatively complete,but there is less biological monitoring.The community health service center's dental department has more water supply monitoring,but there is less disinfection of waterways.Relevant administrative departments should strengthen the supervision and urge the improvement and perfection.
