Investigation on contamination status of personal belongings among staff in operation room in a grade 3A hospital
Objective To investigate the status of personal belongings contamination among staff in operation room,so as to provide reference for medical institution to establish management and measures.Methods Questionnaire was used to investigate the staff working in the central operating room of a grade 3A hospital randomly,which concluded the personal belongings frequently exposed during medical work,personal belongings frequently taken home from the medical environment and the condition of self-directed disinfection.Results The top 2 personal belongings that surgery related staff often contact in medical work were mobile phones(78.92%)and employee cards(13.79%).The top 2 personal belongings that they often brought home from the medical environment were mobile phones(93.14%)and employee cards(7.57%).72.46%of the staff in operation room had actively disinfected the mobile phones,and 46.86%of the staff cards.The qualified rate of surface disinfection of mobile phones was higher than that of employee cards(72%vs 61%;χ2=2.716,P=0.009),and the ATP detection value of employee card surface was greater than that of mobile phone surface(t=-2.274,P=0.024).Conclusion The awareness of self-directed disinfection of personal belongings among staff in operation room needs to be improved,and the surface pollution of personal belongings needs intervention management.
