Validation of disinfection effectiveness for a level 3 biosafety laboratory and the key protective equipment
Objective To verify the disinfection effect of vaporised hydrogen peroxide in a level 3 biosafety laboratory and the key protective equipment of a Centre for Disease Control and Prevention. Methods Simulated field disinfection test method was used to verify and evaluate the disinfection effect. The tablets of Bacillus stearothermophilus spores as indicators were placed in the biosafety laboratory core room, biosafety cabinet, individual ventilation cages,vent-type exhaust HEPA unit and sewage disinfection equipment, which were detected after the routine disinfection procedure of vaporized hydrogen peroxide disinfector. Results All tablets of Bacillus stearothermophilus spores in the core room of the biosafety laboratory and the key protective equipment on were completely killed, the results were all qualified. The pulsating vacuum pressure steam sterilizer in the laboratory was all qualified by chemical indicator card, biological indicator and B-D test verified. The disinfection field test of positive pressure biological protective hood showed that the average killing logarithm of natural bacteria was above 1.0.Conclusion The disinfection effect of the level 3 biosafety laboratory and the key protective equipment has been verified, and the requirements of the specified indexes have been reached.
