Application effect observation of tracking methodology and failure mode and effect analysis in the centralized management of medical devices
Objective To study the effect of tracking methodology and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis(FMEA)in the centralized management of medical devices in hospital operating room and disinfection supply center(CSSD).Methods 800 surgical instruments from a hospital from January to March 2023 were selected as the control group, and 800 surgical instruments from April to June 2023 were selected as the observation group. The control group was given conventional management of instruments, and the observation group was given tracking methodology and FMEA management. The quality management qualification of the two groups, the reasons for washing back the instruments,as well as the satisfaction of medical staff with the use of surgical instruments were compared. Results The qualified rates of device cleaning, disinfection, functional integrity and quantity accuracy of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the qualified rate of the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The rust spot rate, glue trace rate, stain rate and undried rate of medical devices in the observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).The overall satisfaction of 30 medical staff with the observation group's equipment was significantly higher than that of the control group. Conclusion The implementation of tracking methodology and FMEA for centralized management of medical devices in hospital operating rooms and CSSD can effectively improve the reprocessing quality of medical devices, reduce instrument wear and tear, and increase satisfaction with the use of surgical instruments.
