Development and Performance Research of Skin Care Emulsions Containing High Internal Phase Gel Emulsions
High internal phase gel emulsion, prepared from water-soluble shea butter as an emulsifier and grape seed oil encapsulated with α-tocopherol acetate as the oil phase, was added to the skin care emulsion system as a cosmetic oil phase with both efficacy components. The physicochemical indices of the skin care emulsion were tested, and their moisture retention and antioxidant abilities were investigated. The results showed that skin care emulsions containing high internal phase gel emulsion were oil-in-water emulsions with good fluidity and a moderate pH value. They were able to maintain good stability against external conditions such as storage, heating, freezing, and centrifugation. The total number of colonies complied with national standards when stored at room temperature for a short period(within two weeks). When used, they exhibited better moisturizing and antioxidant capacities.
