Study on the Performance of a Compound Ortho-Pathalaldehyde Disinfectant
Objective:The performance of a compound phthalatedehyde disinfectant was observed by experiment. Methods:Stability accelerated test, the carrier quantitative germicidal test and metal corrosion test were conducted for laboratory observation. Results:The compound ortho-phthalaldehyde disinfectant was stored at 37°C for 90 days, resulting in a decrease in ortho-phthalaldehyde content of 5.4%.The disinfectant achieved a 99.999%kill rate against Bacillus subtilis var.niger spores on the carrier after 20 minutes of exposure.Similarly,it achieved kill rates above 99.999%for Staphylococcus aureus,Streptococcus,Enterococcus faecalis,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Klebsiella pneumoniae,Acinetobacter baumannii,Candida albicans, and Candida tropicalis after 5 minutes of exposure. After immersing in the disinfectant for 72 h,there was no corrosion of stainless steel coupon and carbon steel coupon, slight corrosion of aluminum coupon and copper coupon. Conclusion:The expiration date of the compound ortho-pathalaldehyde disinfectant which as high level disinfectants is 2 year.
