Technology for Two-Step Synthesis of Mixed Fatty Amidopropyl Betaine Surfactant
Mixed fatty amidopropyl betaine surfactant was prepared by a two-step method with Mixed fatty acids(lauric acid, myristic acid and stearic acid),N,n-dimethyl 1,3-propylenediamine,chloroacetic acid and liquid alkali as raw materials. The optimized process conditions for the first-step amidation reaction were as follows:the molar of DMAPA to atty acid:1.2:1,the reaction temperature was maintained at 130~140℃for 14 hours. The conversion rate of mixed fatty acids was 98.8%.The second step of quaternary amination reaction was to study the change of free amine with reaction time. The optimal process conditions were as follows:the molar of Chloroacetic acid to PKO:1.06:1,the reaction temperature was maintained at 80~90℃for 6 hours. The mixture of fatty amidopropyl betaine contains 0.23%free amine and 0.24%free fatty acid.
