Influence of Cosurfactant on the Properties of Facial Cleansers
A facial cleanser containing about 3 wt%of different cosurfactants was prepared, including anionic, amphoteric and non-ionic surfactants. The results showed that sodium cocamoylamphoacetate decreased congealing point and energy storage modulus, while lauryl sulfobetaine and PEG-12 methyl gluco dioleate increased both. However, with cosurfactants sodium cocoamphoacetic acid or PEG-120 methyl gluco dioleate, the foaming capacity was reduced, while the other cosurfactants increased the foaming capacity to varying extents.Meanwhile,PEG-120 methyl glucose dioleate increased the hardness, viscosity and adhesion,as well as lauryl ether-4 increased viscosity and adhesion in the facial cleanser sample. In addition,PEG-120 methyl gluco dioleate enhanced the removal of sebum in the detergency test.
