Study on the Removal Process of Dioxane By-Product from Oil Ethoxylates
The removal of dioxane from the oil ethoxylates NOE product was carried out by azeotropic evaporation with water. The effects of process conditions such as initial vacuum degree and duration, temperature, water addition amount, and staged water addition on the material state during the removal process and removal efficiency were investigated. And results showed that:dioxane content of NOE can be removed from 391 ppm to 26 ppm with the condition of 3.0%water additive amount, removal temperature 85℃,initial vacuum degree controlled at 75 kPa for 15 mins, then increase the vacuum to 98 kPa for 15 mins.If the 3.0%water additive amount is divided into 2 additions(1.5%each time)or 3 additions(1.0%each time)for removal, the residual amount of dioxane can be further reduced to 15 ppm and 8 ppm, respectively.
