Waterproof finishing agents mainly contain two types:fluorine and fluorine free. This paper provides a brief overview of the classification and evaluation methods of waterproof finishing agents. Taking fabric treatment as an example in home care,some waterproof finishing agents require high-temperature treatment,which is inconvenient for consumers to use. After multiple washes,the waterproof performance disappears,and there are problems such as yellowing that affect consumers' sense of use. Therefore,when developing formulas,formula engineers need to consider whether the handling methods used by consumers are simple,the washing resistance,yellowing issues,etc.
