Pharmaceutical Care Practice for A Case of Drug-induced Hypersensitivity Syndrome in A Child by Clinical Pharmacists
OBJECTIVE To explore the key points of pharmaceutical care of drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome caused by vancomycin.METHODS The clinical pharmacists performed pharmaceutical care for a case of vancomycin-induced drug hypersensitivity syndrome in a child,adjusted the child's medication regimens,monitored antimicrobial blood concentrations and adjusted the administered dose,and performed a relevant literature analysis.RESULTS After early identification and discontinuation of the suspected sensitizing drugs,the child was discharged from the hospital after symptomatic supportive treatment.CONCLUSION Children with drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome have the special characteristics of children,clinicians and clinical pharmacists should focus on the medication safety of the special group to achieve early detection and early treatment.
