Effect of Total Glucosides of Paeony on Clinical Efficacy and Serum Th1/Th2 Cytokine Imbalance in Patients with Allergic Rhinitis
OBJECTIVE To analyze the effects of total glucosides of paeony on the clinical efficacy and serum Thl/Th2 cytokine imbalance in patients with allergic rhinitis,in order to provide more thinking for clinical patients.METHODS Ninety-two cases of allergic rhinitis patients with lung Qi deficiency in TCM were enrolled from July 2020 to July 2023 in the outpatient and inpatient departments of Hangzhou Lin'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. The patients were divided into observation group and control group by random number table. The control group was routinely given montelukast sodium tablets and mometasone furoate nasal spray, and the observation group was also given total paeony glycosides capsule on the basis of the control group. The TCM syndrome score, nasal conjunctivitis Quality of Life questionnaire(RQLQ)score, laboratory indicators and adverse reactions of patients before and after treatment were recorded.RESULTS The curative effect of TCM syndromes in observation group and control group were 95.65%and 80.43%,respectively(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in TCM syndrome scores and RQLQ scores between the observation group and the control group before treatment. After treatment,TCM syndrome score and RQLQ score of observation group and control group were significantly reduced compared with before treatment, and the effect of observation group was better(P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no significant differences in serum levels of IL-4,IFN-γ,T-bet and GATA-3 between observation group and control group. After treatment, the serum levels of IL-4 and GATA-3 in observation group and control group were decreased, and the serum levels of IFN-γ and T-bet were increased, and the effect of observation group was better than that before treatment(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Total glucosides of paeony can improve the clinical efficacy and quality of life of patients with allergic rhinitis, and correct the Th1/Th2 immune imbalance.
