To clarify the primary and secondary relationship between phenotypic quantitative traits of cabbage and yield per plant,so as to promote the breeding of new varieties of cabbage in cold area of plateau. The results showed that the correlation between yield per plant and 14 phenotypic quantitative traits were as follows:Leaf head diameter>leaf head longitudinal diameter>stele height>green layer number>green layer thickness>stele height/leaf head height>leaf length>leaf width>outer stem length>head weight>expansion>stele width>plant height>outer leaf number. The re-sults showed the transverse diameter and longitudinal diameter of leaf bulb had the greatest effect on yield per plant, and the correlation degree between the two traits and yield per plant was 0.785 5 and 0.743 3,respectively.Therefore,when yield was target in cabbage hybrid breeding, the two factors, leaf head transverse diameter and leaf head longitudinal di-ameter,should be given priority to obtain new varieties of cabbage with higher yield per plant.
