Relationship between root exudates of cucurbits and vegetables plants and chemotaxis behavior of Meloidogyne incognita
To investigate the relationship between the components of root exudates and the chemotaxis of Meloidogyne incognita J2s,this study potted 7 different cucurbits and vegetables plants(tomato, sweet pepper, bitter gourd, water spinach, celery, cucumber, melon)and measured the primary metabolites and secondary metabolites extent of root exu-dates.Then,the tendency of M.incognita J2s towards different cucurbits and vegetables plants root exudates were observed. And the correlation analysis was also conducted between the chemotaxis of M.incognita J2s and the content of various components in plant root exudates. The results showed that M.incognita J2s exhibited a positive trend towards the root exudates of 7 cucurbits and vegetables plants, with J2s towards root exudates of Ipomoea aquatica having the highest chemotaxis index of 0.52.There was no significant correlation between chemotaxis and soluble sugars, proteins content, but significantly negatively correlated with tannin, succinic acid, alanine content in root exudates, with the corre-lation coefficients values of-0.444,-0.527,and-0.522,respectively,and extremely significantly negatively correlated with glycine and alkaloid content, with the correlation coefficients values of-0.601 and-0.550,respectively.The research results could provide a theoretical basis for using taxis technology to prevent and control M.incognita.
