The new cultivar of fresh sweet melon with thin and thick skin,Cuihua 1724 bred by inbred lines 17M21-1 and 17M29-1 as its female and male parents. The full growth period of spring cultivation in protected areas is about 100 days,and the fruit development period is about 35 days. The plant grows steadily,with medium-sized leaves and good stress re-sistance. It is not prone to premature aging,easy to set fruits,not prone to fruit cracking,has good early maturity,and is easy to cultivate. The fruit is oval shaped,with single fruit mass of 1.6-2.0 kg. The skin color is golden yellow with green patches,and there are sparse mesh patterns after maturity. The fruit consistency is good,with milky white flesh,thick flesh,small seed cavity,and crispy flesh. The soluble solids content in the center is over 18.0％,and the soluble solids con-tent in the edges is about 14.0％. The taste is sweet,the flavor is fragrant,and the shelf life is long. The results of produc-tion trials in spring 2019 and 2020 showed that the average yield of Cuihua 1724 is about 3110.0 kg per 667 m2,making it suitable for cultivation in protected areas in Shaanxi,Ningxia,Gansu,Inner Mongolia,Shandong,Henan,Hebei,Anhui,Jiangsu,Zhejiang,Hainan and other regions in spring and autumn.
