Application of lifestyle management based on theory of planned behavior in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome
Objective To evaluate the application effect of lifestyle management based on theory of planned behavior(TPB)in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Methods A total of 76 patients diagnosed with PCOS in the outpatient department of Center for Reproductive Medicine,Peking University Third Hospital from January to August 2022 were selected as the research objects.According to the sequence of patient visit,41 patients diagnosed from January to April 2022 were included in the experimental group(given lifestyle management based on TPB),and 35 patients diagnosed from May to August 2022 were included in the control group(given routine lifestyle management). After 3 months of intervention, the body mass index(BMI),waist-to-hip ratio and quality of life of the two groups were compared before and after intervention. Results After 3 months of intervention, the BMI and waist-to-hip ratio of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05),and the scores of total quality of life, body mass dimension and infertility dimension were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions The lifestyle management based on the TBP reduces the BMI and waist-to-hip ratio of patients, helps patients to carry out healthy lifestyle management, and improves their quality of life.
