Expression and clinical significance of autophagy-related gene 3 and autophagy-related gene 5 in skin lesions of patients with condyloma acuminatum
Objective To investigate the expression levels and clinical significance of autophagy-related gene 3(ATG3)and autophagy-related gene 5(ATG5)in skin lesions of patients with condyloma acuminatum. Methods A total of 92 patients with condyloma acuminatum admitted to Chengyang District People's Hospital were selected as the study group.A total of 63 healthy people with normal skin tissue removed for other reasons during the same time were regarded as the control group, among them,45 cases were males undergoing circumcision and 18 cases were females undergoing vulvoplasty.General information of all subjects was collected and recorded, the expression levels of ATG3 and ATG5 were detected. The correlation between the expression levels of ATG3 and ATG5 was analyzed by Pearson method. The efficacy of ATG3 and ATG5 expression levels in predicting the recurrence of condyloma acuminatum was analyzed by receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve. Results The expression levels of ATG3(1.28±0.27)and ATG5(0.91± 0.23)in the skin lesions of patients in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group(1.86±0.39,1.34±0.31)(P<0.05).The expression levels of ATG3 and ATG5 in skin lesions were correlated to the diameter of wart mass and human papilloma virus(HPV)type(P<0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that the expression levels of ATG3 and ATG5 in the skin lesions of patients with condyloma acuminatum were positively correlated(r=0.527,P<0.05).The expression levels of ATG3 and ATG5 in the skin lesions of the recurrence group were significantly lower than those of the non-recurrence group(P<0.05).The area under ROC curve(AUC)of ATG3 and ATG5 alone and combined in predicting the recurrence of condyloma acuminatum was 0.729,0.785 and 0.907,respectively,the combination of them was better than that of ATG3 and ATG5 alone(ZATG3-ccombination=2.876,ZATG5-combination=2.064,P<0.05).Conclusions The expression levels of ATG3 and ATG5 in the skin lesions of patients with condyloma acuminatum are significantly decreased, and the combination of the two can be used to predict the recurrence of condyloma acuminatum, which is of great clinical application value.
