Meta-analysis of the clinical efficacy of Shugan Huoxue Therapy in the treatment of chronic prostatitis
Objective To comprehensively evaluate the clinical effects of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)herbs of Shugan Huoxue in the treatment of chronic prostatitis,with the aim of providing new ideas and reliable basis for TCM prevention and treatment of chronic prostatitis.Methods The clinical randomized controlled trial studies in the treatment of TCM herbs for Shugan Huoxue were searched in CNKI,Wanfang,VIP,CBM and PubMed from the establishment of the database to February 2023.Meta-analysis of the 10 papers screened in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria was performed with RevMan 5.4 software.Results The Meta results showed that,compared with the use of western/Chinese patent medicine alone,the total effective rate of clinical efficacy of interventions using the Shugan Huoxue Therapy was 1.26 times that of the control group(RR=1.26,95％CI:1.19-1.34,P<0.000,01).The national institute of health chronic prostatitis symptom index(NIH-CPSI)score was significantly reduced(MD =-4.75,95％CI:-5.56--3.94,P<0.000,01).Pain(or discomfort)symptoms was effective mitigated(MD =-1.23,95％CI:-1.96--0.50,P=0.000,9).Urinary symptoms were improved(MD =-1.03,95％CI:-1.45--0.61,P<0.000,01).Quality of life was improved(MD =-1.18,95％CI:-1.29--1.07,P<0.000,01).Conclusions In the treatment of chronic prostatitis,the total effective rate,the reduction of NIP-CPSI score,the relief of pain(or discomfort)symptoms,the improvement of urinary symptoms and the improvement of quality of life were significantly superior in using of TCMherbs of Shugan Huoxue than western/Chinese patent medicine alone.
