Penile prosthesis implantation surgery is one of the most effective surgical treatments for refractory erectile dysfunction.After decades of development,the mechanical reliability,patient satisfaction,safety and functional erectile repair of penile prostheses have been greatly improved.This paper reviews the development of penile prosthesis in recent decades and the management of postoperative infection.
