Investigation and analysis of the traditional Chinese medicine-based constitution and epidemiology-related factors of patients with persistent cervical high-risk human papilloma virus infection
Objective To investigate traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)-based constitution and epidemiology-related risk factors of patients with persistent cervical high-risk human papilloma virus(HR-HPV)infection.Methods A total of 72 patients with persistent HR-HPV infection who underwent cervical cancer screening at Shenzhen Hospital(Futian)of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine from November 2021 to October 2022 and met the inclusion and exclusion criteria as the positive group, and 105 healthy women who tested negative for HPV at the same time without other underlying diseases were selected as the negative group.TCM-based constitution and epidemiology-related risk factors were investigated by questionnaire and analyzed statistically. Results Equanimity was negatively associated with persistent HR-HPV infection and was a protective fitness. The occupation of freelance or housewives, institutional or professional workers, and the daily consumption of fruits and vegetables was negatively associated with persistent HR-HPV infection, and was lower than the risk of persistent HR-HPV infection in people with manual or service occupations and a nutritionally unbalanced diet. The number of previous sexual partners and the number of chlamydia infections were positively associated with persistent HR-HPV infection and were risk factors for persistent high-risk HPV infection. Conclusions Persistent HR-HPV infection is correlated with TCM-based constitution and epidemiology-related factors.
