Application of behavior change wheel theory in patients with condyloma acuminatum after 5-aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy
Objective To explore the application of behavior change wheel(BCW)theory in patients with condyloma acuminatum(CA)after 5-aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy(ALA-PDT).Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data of 89 patients with CA confirmed in Xuancheng Central Hospital from October 2021 to May 2023.According to different treatment methods, patients were divided into observation group(n=47)and control group(n=42).After ALA-PDT,control group was given CA routine nursing, while observation group was given nursing with BCW theory on the basis of control group for 1 month, and all the patients were intervened for one month. Before and after intervention, scores of self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),dermatology life quality index(DLQI),health promotion lifestyle(HPL)and exercise of self-care agency scale(ESCA)between the two groups were compared. After 3 months of follow-up,eradication rate of human papilloma virus(HPV)infection was compared between the two groups. Results After intervention,SAS scores in both groups were decreased, which were lower in observation group than control group(P<0.05).After intervention,DLQI scores in both groups were decreased, which were lower in observation group than control group(P<0.05).After intervention,HPL and ESCA scores in both groups were increased, which were higher in observation group than control group(P<0.05).After 3 months of follow-up,the eradication rate of HPV infection in observation group was 89.36%(42/47)and the eradication rate of HPV infection in control group was 83.33%(35/42),with no significant difference between two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions BCW theory intervention in patients with CA after ALA-PDT can improve life quality, enhance self-management and promote health behaviors.
