Relationship between changes in serum pentraxin-3,leucine-rich α-2-glycoprotein 1 levels and recurrence of condyloma acuminatum
Objective To investigate the relationship between changes in serum pentraxin-3(PTX3),leucine-rich α-2-glycoprotein 1(LRG1)levels and recurrence of condyloma acuminatum(CA)and their predictive value for recurrence.Methods A total of 120 CA patients(CA group)admitted to Wuhan First Hospital were selected as study objects.They were further divided into recurrence group(n=64)and non-recurrence group(n=56)based on their recurrence condition after treatment.Another 120 patients with physical examination during the same period were selected as the control group.The levels of serum PTX3 and LRG1 were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Multivariable Logistic regression was applied to analyze the influencing factors of recurrence in CA patients.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was applied to evaluate the predictive efficacy of serum PTX3,LRG1 and their combination on the recurrence of CA patients.Results The levels of PTX3 and LRG1 in CA group were significantly higher than those in control group(P＜0.05).Compared with the non-recurrence group,the recurrence group had significantly higher numbers in staying up late,condom use,sexual partners infected by human papillomavirus(HPV),and the levels of interleukin(IL)-6,IL-1 β,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),C-reactive protein(CRP),PTX3 and LRG1(P＜0.05).Logistic analysis result showed that IL-6,IL-1β,TNF-α,CRP,PTX3 and LRG1 were all independent risk factors for CA recurrence(P＜0.05).PTX3 in serum of CA patients was positively correlated with LRG1(r=0.680,P＜0.05),and with IL-6 and IL-1 β,TNF-α,CRP(r=0.587,0.523,0.592,0.566,P＜0.05).LRG1 was positively correlated with IL-6,IL-1 β,TNF-α,CRP(r=0.547,0.508,0.559,0.531,P＜0.05).The ROC curve results showed that the area under curve(AUC)of serum PTX3,LRG1 and combined prediction of CA reccurence was 0.742,0.795 and 0.878 respectively,and the AUC of the combination prediction was significantly higher than that predicted by the two alone(Z=2.490,1.615,P＜0.05).Conclusions The serum PTX3 and LRG1 levels in patients with CA increase significantly,it can increase the risk of CA recurrence and can be both used as a predictive factor of CA recurrence.
