Azoospermia after radiotherapy and chemotherapy for primary mediastinal seminoma:a case report and literature review
Objective To discuss the diagnostic and therapeutic ideas for the azoospermia after radiotherapy and chemotherapy in patients with primary mediastinal seminoma.Methods By analyzing the diagnosis and treatment process of a case of azoospermia after radiotherapy and chemotherapy for primary mediastinal seminoma admitted to Taiyuan Hospital of Peking University First Hospital in January 2024,and combining with relevant literature reports,this paper discussed the clinical diagnosis and treatment strategy of this kind of patients.Results Spermatozoa were obtained by microsurgical testicular sperm extraction.Conclusions For patients with azoospermia after radiotherapy or chemotherapy,the appropriate treatment method should be selected after comprehensive evaluating the patients'conditions to help the patients solve their fertility problems properly.
