Clinical efficacy of round spermatid injection:a Meta-analysis
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of round spermatid injection(ROSI)in patients with globozoospermia.Methods Literature search of Medline,Embase,Cochrane Library,and ClinicalTrials.gov database were searched to include the research on the application of ROSI treatment for globozoospermia patients from the establishment of the database to October 2022.The clinical efficacy of ROSI was evaluated by Meta-analyses and subgroup analyses.Results A total of 29 studies with 1,363 patients were included for analysis.The total fertilization rate(2PN)after ROSI was 37.9％(95％CI:30.7％-45.4％),the total pregnancy rate was 3.8％(95％CI:0.8％-8.1％),and the final delivery rate was 1.8％(95％CI:0％-5.6％).After improving the identification method of round spermatid,the pregnancy rate(21.2％)and delivery rate(13.1％)after ROSI were increased.The fertilization rate in Asia(41.5％)was higher than that in non-Asia(33.4％),but the pregnancy rate and delivery rate(2.8％,0.9％)were lower than those in non-Asia(6.4％,5.9％).Conclusions ROSI has a positive effect on the fertility of globozoospermia patients,and the outcome of ROSI treatment varies in different regions.After improving the identification method of round spermatid,the clinical efficacy of ROSI has been improved.
