The detection and clinical significance of neutral α-glucosidase and hypoxia inducible factor-1α levels in semen of infertility patients
Objective To investigate neutral α-glucosidase(NAG)and hypoxia inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α)levels in semen of infertility patients and their clinical significance.Methods A total of 200 infertility patients admitted to Jinhua People's Hospital from April 2022 to April 2023 were selected as the study objects,set as study group and divided into four subgroups according to semen parameters.100 healthy males undergoing medical examination during the same period with reproductive history were selected as the control group.The levels of sex hormones,semen NAG and HIF-1α in each group were detected.Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to analyze the relationship between semen NAG and HIF-1α,semen parameters and sex hormones.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was used to analyze the diagnostic efficacy of semen NAG and HIF-1α in infertility.Results The semen NAG level in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group,and the HIF-1α level was significantly higher than control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The levels of semen NAG and serum testosterone(T)in the oligospermia group and the oligoasthenozoospermia group were significantly lower than those in the normal group and the asthenospermia group,and the asthenospermia group was lower than the normal group(P<0.05).The levels of semen HIF-1α and serum follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)in the oligospermia group and the oligoasthenozoospermia group were significantly higher than those in the normal group and the asthenospermia group,and the asthenospermia group was higher than the normal group(P<0.05).In the study group,semen NAG was negatively correlated with HIF-1α and serum FSH levels(P<0.05),and positively correlated with sperm concentration,progressive motility rate(PR)and T levels(P<0.05).Semen HIF-1α was negatively correlated with PR and serum T(P<0.05).The area under the curve of semen NAG and HIF-1α in the diagnosis of infertility were 0.885 and 0.807,respectively,and the combined diagnosis was 0.927.Conclusions The low expression of NAG and high expression of HIF-1α in semen of infertility patients are correlated with related semen parameters and sex hormones.Semen NAG,HIF-1α,and combined detection have good clinical value in the diagnosis of infertility.
