Study on occurrence of endometrial polyp and its relationship with in vitro fertilization-assisted pregnancy outcomes in patients with chronic endometritis
Objective To explore the occurrence of endometrial polyp(EP)and its relationship with in vitro fertilization(IVF)-assisted pregnancy outcomes in patients with chronic endometritis(CE).Methods A total of 130 patients with CE undergoing IVF-assisted pregnancy in Sichuan Jinxin Xinan Women's and Children's Hospital from April 2020 and April 2022 were retrospectively enrolled as the research objects.According to presence or absence of EP,they were divided into EP group(n=63)and non-EP group(n=67).The differences in general data, laboratory and clinical data, and pregnancy outcomes in the two groups were compared. Results The proportion of severe CE in EP group was higher than that in non-EP group, level of basal estradiol(E2)was higher than that in non-EP group, and endometrial thickness on the day of egg retrieval was greater than that in non-EP group(P<0.05).The biochemical pregnancy rate in EP group was higher than that in non-EP group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in clinical pregnancy rate, early abortion rate, ectopic pregnancy rate or live birth rate between the two groups(P>0.05).The results of univariate analysis showed that level of basal E2 and CE severity were influencing factors of IVF-assisted pregnancy outcomes(P<0.05).Conclusions The risk of EP is higher in CE patients.EP patients have the similar IVF outcomes after hysteroscopy before IVF-assisted pregnancy with non-EP patients.Level of basal E2 and CE severity may influence assisted pregnancy outcomes in CE patients combined with EP.
